Wyandotte County has over 3,200 vacant lots available for purchase. Primarily acquired in tax sales, these lots are available for purchase for $1 (not including application fees) and are located predominantly in Northeast KCK.
KCSourceLink helps lead the effort to make Kansas City America’s most entrepreneurial city. That means we connect entrepreneurs to resources, coaches, funding, education and help coordinate great events for entrepreneurs, like Global Entrepreneurship Week. We also help monitor Kansas City's entrepreneurial ecosystem: we measure outcomes, work with our Resource Partners to fill gaps in resources and bring national resources to the community through grants such as the i6 Challenge and the University Center grants from the Department of Commerce EDA.
The Bank On movement is a national effort to ensure everyone has access to safe and affordable bank accounts, leveraging national, regional, and local collaborations to encourage widespread availably of safe, low-cost transactional products.
The Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) is a private, non-profit organization. We are charged with representing the economic interests of the entire two-state, 18-county Greater Kansas City region of 2.5 million. KCADC's clients consistently rank our team the No. 1 Regional Economic Development Group in the nation.
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City is the birthplace of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC. The Hispanic Chamber is the voice for small business in the Greater Kansas City metro. We represent business of all sizes across 8 counties in both Kansas and Missouri.
Our purpose is to ensure that Black-owned businesses always have an opportunity to express their interests and to be heard. It is through the Chamber’s persistent voice, our businesses are able to effectively communicate and address the needed changes to rectify continued racial imbalances in the economy and to strengthen the community.
Women Owned KC (WOKC) helps local women business owners gain exposure and visibility so that they can multiply community impact and finally realize economic equality. We support our Kansas City community in shopping with purpose. Women Owned KC is an initiative of tashvock design collective.
The mission of the Women’s Business Center is to develop, counsel and mentor women in all stages of business development and growth. We do this through classes, seminars, peer roundtables, one-on-one consultation, networking and referrals. We also educate women entrepreneurs on sources of funding to include micro-loans and angel funding through the Women’s Capital Connection.
The Enterprise Center in Johnson County (ECJC) is a non-profit organization that helps Kansas City entrepreneurs grow by providing entrepreneur education, mentoring, and connections to capital. The ECJC is a hub of entrepreneurial activity, housing the Women's Business Center, the Mid-America Angels and the Women’s Capital Connection angel investment networks, and the Growth Mentoring Service and the LaunchU entrepreneurial programs.
Whether you need help determining where to start or you’re working to grow your business, ECJC is a valuable resource in helping entrepreneurs and startups navigate the many resources available to them.
